so you a time out taken! gano drilled in. >> houston called time before they snapped the ball. >> you know, i usually hate that play. that was reinforced yesterday. i guess the fact that it is in the rules, you can't do anything about it. you give him cede feat kicking a 52-yarder. you wish he could have done it twice. we are talking a little monday morning quarterback with dave ross. we were talking on friday about some of the waits you can go to beat this houston team and i give them credit they want shut down the running game. we saw the week before they gave up a couple hundred yards
5:54 am
on the ground. but when you shut that down and you give up 500 yards in the air. >> i said it on friday. it is fool's gold. everybody was talking about arian air januaryfosterr -- about arian foster and stopped the running game. it is hard for me to point fingers. everybody played their hearts out. the old entire team, defensively and offensively. donovan mcnabb was simply amazing. 426yards, the third most in his career. that is the play of the game. you throw it up for andre johnson. that is the reason why he is the best receiver in the league. as we saw, gano had made the 5 #-yarder. they called time out and this
5:55 am
one is so wide right. no chance on the second kick but that is why you call it. it is a rule. it is not a good rule. texas comes town in overtime. there has been a lot of debate about that. is it sportsman like to call time out? you know what. if the play clock is running out and you need a time out, that is why you have three. if you got them, you use them. that is why coaches do exactly that. now, that strategy could always backfire. you could call it, they miss it and then they make it the next time around. so there is some peril involved in it. it is not a foolproof strategy that every time you do it, it is going to work. it just happened to work in this instance for the texans. no blame for pass around for the washington redskins. i thought they played hard. this is what the quarterback donovan mcnabb had to say after the tough loss. >> i'm a competitor and i hate losing. it doesn't mass if i pass for 500 yards or i pass for 100 something, it is about winning. that is what the bottom line
5:56 am
is. it is about wins and losses. i mean who has got eight, nine, ten ones to get in the playoffs or who is not able to get in. i think this team is talented enough where we can be able to bounce back after a game like this. and get this thing rolling and i look forward to it, being able it lead that for these guys. >> being able to lead that for these guys. i think that is the key. he hates losing. he couldn't have played any better. >> i well tell you this. it was great. you was out at the game yesterday and it was great just watching him play. i can't tell you how many times people sitting around me said what an addition it is to have mcnabb on the team. what i take from this day is i have not seen in past years is the fact that, like you said,

everybody is working together. i think this is a wake-up call. just because we are adoing good doesn't mean we can sit back now. >> : they played one of the better teams in the nfl, maybe the most improved team in the nfl. you saw williams on their side making some plays. they have everything they need too. so the redskins, if this is the litmus test, got to say they didn't pass but they're right there. they are right on the cusp if the texans are one of the better teams in the ffl. i think this is encouraging for the red skinned to know they can play with a offense an hang with them. >> how can we get an andre johnson. >> you can't find those on trees. >> there is a 6'4" kid out of san diego that is available. >> albert haynesworth was enactive. maybe there is a trade in the works. i'm just saying it could happen. >> we'll talk more coming up next hour. straight head at 6:00, all your top stories, weather and
